What does the count mean?

A sitemap is a list of URLs a website shares with search engines. We check robots.txt, discover XML sitemaps, follow sitemap indexes, and count each unique URL once. A listed URL may be a page, a document, or another resource; it is not proof that Google has indexed it.

Large or blocked sitemaps may produce an incomplete scan. You’ll see a clear notice when a limit is reached.
